Mazdan Love: Our Duty

Mazdan Love: Our Duty
by Daniel Levie

All political doublespeak aside, worshipers of Wisdom believe that life as a whole is sacred. I am not a politician because politics as we know it is the compromise of all that I stand for, which includes the sanctity of all life in the universe and the true equality of all genders, races, sexual orientations, and moreso. To me love and wisdom matter and they truly go hand in hand. To subtract any portion of Humanity from the equations of our existence is to take away a part of love and wisdom from the world, which can in no way be good. To hate a person because of their ethnicity is to contribute to the forces of ignorance, of the Lie, in the world. To deny full equality to someone due to gender expression is just as restrictive to love and wisdom. Being cruel or demeaning and excluding someone because they are LGBTQ+ is just as wrong and as prejudiced as blatant racism and all the other ignorant horrors of the world. These all are born from the Great Lie, known in Mazdan thought as the Druj. As a Mazdan of The Occidental Temple of the Wise Lord, I believe that we are each sacred, as we are here to fight the Lie and uphold Truth, the Path of Asha, in thought, word and deed. Conscience flavors our actions just as action flavors our conscience. Mazdans are lovers of the environment, lovers of our neighbors, lovers of all as we strive for them to be preserved against The Lie. To be deniers of love is to pervert the very Wisdom within which guides us in thought, word and deed. From progressive thinking results optimum intelligence. This leads to the most excellent order of both cosmic and personal worlds. As the most wise and noble rulers with desired and desirable dominion over all kingdoms, we can foster goodness through honest devotion to earth, nature and to each other. As stewards we perfect the worlds mental and material, as waters within and waters without, becoming co-creators of wholeness and vitality in a self-sustaining and ever-renewing existence.
